Mr. Adler is a Managing Principal of Halcyon/Alan B. Slifka Management Company LLC, one of the largest independent money managers specializing in "event investing" - distressed securities and merger arbitrage. The firm was founded in 1982 and now manages approximately $2 billion in assets. Herb graduated from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and has over 35 years of investment experience. Prior to joining Halcyon/Alan B. Slifka Management Company LLC, Herb was General Partner at McFarland Dewey & Co., Chairman of the International Mergers and Acquisitions Committee at KPMG Peat Marwick and was Managing Director of E.M. Warburg, Pincus & Co.
